We, a small team of development thinkers, media persons and researchers, are trying to create a clearing house of information on India’s rural crisis so as to generate meaningful debates. The project is funded by a Ford Foundation grant. We are based at the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies (CSDS), near Delhi University’s North Campus. We run a web-based resource centre, (www.im4change.org) designed mainly for media persons, policy-makers and researchers who need to make sense of rural India’s multiple crises. We also conduct media research mainly to audit mainstream media’s coverage of rural issues and hold occasional workshops for rural reporters and civil society activists. The members of the Inclusive media team, Vipul Mudgal (vipul@csds.in), Chandan Shrivastawa (chandan@csds.in) and Shambhu Ghatak (shambhu@csds.in) avoid taking hard ideological positions and welcome suggestions/ criticism about our work from anyone who cares to write to us. |
