In Banda district of Uttar Pradesh, in the dry and semi arid Bundelkhand region, is a farm which is lush green and in stark contrast to the rest of the region. Prem Singh is the farmer who owns it and runs a farmers learning centre at his farm. He practises an alternative way of farming called Avartanasheel Kheti, where he advocates dividing the farmland into three equal parts. These three equal parts should have fruit plantations, millets and grains and fodder for cattle respectively.
