In October, Jharkhand government launched a pilot project in Nagri block of Ranchi district that changed the way people could access their food subsidies. But now they were expected to first go to banks, withdraw the money that the government had transferred into their accounts, and use it to buy foodgrains, which were priced at Rs 32 per kg.
